Just showing a couple of keys for review.

First is a Luftwaffe T17a. BAL stamp on one side, the other side has a stamp but I cannot read what it says. Any help would be great.

It is 376, have not been able to find out who they are

Hi David,

• 1st (T17a): it is a very similar key to the LW T2 (used on aircrafts), made by Ehrich & Graetz A.G., Berlin, under the Lorenz license. Could you show the bottom side?
• 2nd: it is not a TaP (it should have TaP in the circle on the top part of the lid), but a T1; the WaA points to being used by the Heeres (or SS), not by the LW. I have in my reference the WaA376 (related to morse keys as well), but no maker is associated. As far as I see well the inside part of the lid, the MPad imprints are blank...

You are right on Greatz for the T17a, you can see their logo on the data plate. The T17a fits to the same base as the T2, you can see the complete setup here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...05&postcount=1

I have to disagree that it is a T1, the T1 nomenclature was exclusively used by the luftwaffe, the army used TaP. The T1 and Tap are essentially the same keys, late war examples used the same housing and cover, hence you will not find "TaP" embossed on late war TaP's any more.

1. I admit Funksammler's correction.
2. Tnx for the reverse photo, indeed, it is the same fixing mechanism as for the T2.
3. For the lid inside, I was referring to the TaP, not the T17a.

Yes Csaba you are correct the places where the MPD codes should be are blank. The only marking is a small number 7

One of my similar Morsekeys have absolutely no markings/stamps anywhere, except for numbers 1 and 2 for the cable terminal ! Whatever that means -
