    Torn E.b. question

    Hi Gents,

    I have been picking up some radio equipment lately and now I have a ''stupid'' question.I have bought a nice 44 dated Torn Eb. this weekend and want to check if I get it running.Is there some quick method to check the piece and make it work

      The quickest way is to find someone near you who knows old tube technology
      by heart. Some old-school HAM (radioamateur) for example.

        Usually these works OK after not having been used for ages.
        If you have 2 VDC for the filaments and abt 100 VDC just connect and see what you can hear in he headphones

          Warning!

          Yes, just connect and see what you can hear in he headphones...

          but, under any circumstances, NEVER exceed 2 VDC for the filaments!

          Overheating quickly and irretrievably damages the directly heated cathodes of electron tubes!
