Steyr Radio car painting guide help

Hi there! I'm new to the forum and a bit overwhelmed. There's a TON of data here... which is normally a great thing, but I'm also a bit lost.

I'm working on building a Steyr 1500 Radio Car model kit. I'm trying to accurately paint the dials, knobs, and buttons.

Would someone mind helping me identify the radios, and guide me in how to best paint them?

    Here's what I'm working on:

Also, I'm curious if these pieces of equipment would all be the traditional panzer gray (when placed in a panzer grey painted vehicle) or could they be a collection of colors? I'm hoping there might be a historical case for a multi-colored variety of radios being used... better model feel, if so!

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Your top picture shows from left to right:
    - Fu 5 (10 W.S.c + Ukw.E.e) which is a VHF set commonly used in tanks
    - Torn.Fu.d2 which is a portable VHF set used by infantry
    - 30 W.S.c which is a Medium wave transmitter used in the command network of the armoured divisions

The bottom picture, left to right:
    - unknown, doesn't look like German comms equipment
    - Feldfernschreiber, a field teleprinter unit
    - Lautsprechgeraet which is a loudspeaker unit commonly used in Sturmgeschuetze.

So you have a bit of a mixed bag of equipment that does not realy belong togheter.

As to what might have been used in a Steyr 1500A, first question will be what type of bodywork? Open bodied vehicles would typically be used by Tornister Funktrupps, although improvised versions with Fu5 were also used.

The closed bodywork version was the successor to the Horch Kfz 17 and would typically have heavier equipment on board. For more information have a look here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=625512
