Tischfernsprecher 38 (desk phone) help needed

Friends,

I tried wiring an external bell to my Tischfernsprecher 38 today. The bell (night alarm) works on my switchboard no problem, but when I wire it to my my desk phone 38 it shorts the whole system and the connecting line is cut, or at least can't communicate. Has anyone had success wiring a bell to the 2 W2 terminals?

OK, I put a volt meter to the W2 studs and when I cranked the opposite FF33, I did get a few volts. Maybe it is intended for an alarm without a power source? That seems a bit redundant, but if anyone has more information it would be greatly appreciated.

If you look at the schematic, you see that thw W1,W2 contacts are connected in parallel to the internal bell in the telephone. So you need the same type of bell as is in the telephone which is an AC bell. You can not use the same bell as is used with the Feldklappenschrank, as this is a DC bell with an external power source.
