Hi.
I have recently bought a Torn.Fu.b1 for my collection. The radio is in good shape, and the seller (who is also a friend of mine) has tested the radio, and both transmitter and reciever are in working condition.
The outer box has been restored with new paint, the antenna selection knob is not original, and some of the sheet metal covers that covers the frame inside are missing.
I do not have any zubehör yet, and I am looking for antenna parts, original handle/switch for the antenna selector, battery tornister, front cover and so on.
Anyway, the front panel is in very nice original shape, and the radio is of a early pre-war manufacture. It has not been altered, and does not have the wartime introduced "power saving switch" that usually is found next to the "Typenschild"
Here are a couple of pictures:
But what I am really curious about is the "Pol" designation in front of the serial number. Does this mean that the radio was produced for, or owned by the Polizei?
I have a feeling that this could be a rare marking. Has anyone seen something like this before, and does anyone know what this means?
Please have a look:
Any input or knowlege is most welcome.
And any tips or hints to where I can find the parts I am looking for is also very interesting.
Cheers
Björn
