Help ID this item!

I need help in identifying this item. Seems like some type of radio or electrical equiptment.
The top piece is waffenamt, and dated 1936. The main body is wooden, and is also waffenamt, and has a makers label and dated 1940.
Any ideas as to what this is? and value?

It's a one line field telephone switchboard, many of them could be connected together to make the size switchboard needed. Funksammler's book describes it.
