Question about the Glimmstabi T-2742e for the Ukw.E.e

This is a question about the Stabilivolt neon lamp which stabilizes the anode voltage on the Ukw.E.e. Are there good post-war substitutes for this lamp?

If you don't find tube you can use zener diode until you fin the good tube

Welcome to our forum Radiolo. Thank you for the advice. I was just seeing if this was a standard form factor for this type of voltage stabilizer, and that they made them for other applications post-war.

Hello Yuri,

It is sometime difficult to find the exact substitue stabiliser voltage tube because many german tubes like GR150 have a very specific stabilisation voltage 130V for GR 150
There is no ( or i dit not find) US , french, GB tube vith the same voltage ....

Thanks, la5he. So the type T2742e doesn't indicate the voltage? How's then to distinguish them? Actually any neon lamp can be a voltage stabilizator, all depends on breakdown voltage, which is easy to measure.

The T2742e lights up after about 130 volts.

Accordingly to the Data specifications on the T2742e tube, the Uz is 100V and Ustab is 73-80V.

Something to check on modern neon tubes - lot of them have built in resistor in series. This doesn't suite for voltage regulator as there's already is resistor in the radio circuit so the working point goes wrong. Above neon seems not have (ohne Widerstand). hcs kindly gave T-2742e datasheet - replacement neon needs keep stabile output voltage while current changes in the space of 1..5 mA - this needs to be just tested.
