Here, at last is my more or less completed radio system/set up for the 222.
The Fusprech radio shell and case was made by Neil G. and with help from him and Michael W, I was able to rig a modern high test radio inside the Fusprech shell and have adapted real connectors that plug into the front for the Fernhorer und Mikrofon and the original plugs for each of those. The throat mics work great and are a lot louder and clearer than a hand held mic, as they of course were designed to be.
The modern external antenna had to be disguised and covered with something that was the correct diam. and length, but of course it could not be anything metal or it would interfere with the modern antenna. I just need to add a small ball on the end of it now to look 99.99% correct (or until I learn different) !
Our last two events when we all had radio com made it so much more cooler and efficient. Little time was wasted trying to figure out what was going on, or where such and such a unit was, anyone hurt etc etc.
The Fernhorer boxes my friend made shown in these pics are $75 +8 postage if anyone wants one. They come with correct latch and primer painted , but not finished painted or lettered/stenciled.
Anyone want one I can put you in touch with him.
