WWII USN Power Megaphone

I picked this up at a local auction this past wednesday. It looks like a power megaphone. Its dated 1944 and USN marked. Not sure if this forum is just for German stuff.

Any idea who used thease or how rare they are? I cant find another one anywhere on web.

Nice USN item, IMO likely used when loading landing craft
at sea. My favorite version is the on the beach multi-speaker
version used to direct on shore landings by the Beach Master.

Cool pics! I was told that thease may have been used on PT boats. Cant seem to find out much on this model.
