    Guys,

I don't mind at all, post away.

    Fill your boots!

Its not really my thing and each to their own.

I was a comunicator/observer for 23 years so now I'm happy just to be a civy.

I don't suppose any of you have a U-Boat to go with it?

        Ragnar,

I have been up to U995 myself.

Did you find the actual memorial for the U-Boat crews.

It is about 4 or 5 kms South South East on the same side of the water?

It has a list of every boat lost with a list of crew lost and how which I found intersting, some state 'rammed by fishing boat' and unusual events like that.

                      Dave,

Perhaps it would be possible that only those ,in the Black Sea, Romania coastal protect U-Boats were equipped with a device type of EO 509 ?
Many older radio amateurs from Konstantza said that in 1961, 1965 years that radio was the six German submarine Radioklubes gave the club members

                            Hello, Dave,
You are sure that in the in North Sea and in the Black Sea was also the same communications equipment? It would be impossible difference, between communication equipment ?It was possible that over the years changed the equipment type?
If you definitely know it so, then I

One of Ragnar's U-boat photos has a Lo1UK39 mounted on the wall. Looks like the bottom of the case for that device has been cut off. The part that carries the anode battery and accessories is missing. Has this been cut off specifically for installation on a U-boat? I ask because I have an Lo1UK39 where the case was also cut off just like the one in the picture. Just wanted to know if this was a deliberate U-boat modification, or some post-war convenience mangling job.

I thought the U boats had the Lo10UK39 (Marine Fritz) as the base set, the Lo1UK35 was used as a portable boarding set. There is a wall mounting for the Lo1UK35 (see: http://www.agder.net/la8ak/25h.htm) but I don't think it was used in U-boats.

                                regards,
