I don't think the document is for sale anymore and I still have not located my own example.... You are better off having a look at D-796 on RA3CC's website anyway: http://rkk-museum.ru/documents/archi.../D796-1940.pdf

                  Hello

The technical manual D796 on RKK Museum is incomplete missing the pages from 50 to 125 and 198 to 454

Or find the complete D796 notice on the net ?

                  Thank in advance

You need a triangular key to unscrew the bolts. Some lectric cabinets, trams, etc use keys like that.

Th UK phone system with master and slave socket will be difficult to adopt, but it may work if you forget to care about the separate ringer wire.
To use this at the UK system, you may connect:
                      1 Battery as normal
                      2 UK White (A-wire) to Lb(Zb) 5
                      3 UK Red (b-wire) to ZB 4
4 UK blue (bell wire) to OB 2 in series with a resistor.
(The value of the resistor might be tested out, 2-4 kilo-ohms)
5 No straps or wires to La 3
6 Cut of blue/white wire on capacitor.

The ringer and indicator load of this should at least be compared with 2 regular phones.

A lot of nice Festungsfernsprechers in this thread.
And I am amazed of what amounts of money you can get for a good example.
Here is an example of a festungsfernsprecher KM that was sold on ebay last summer:

                          http://www.ebay.de/itm/WH-Festungsfe...p2047675.l2557

And for future reference, here are a screenshot of the auction and the pictures in it:

And the description. According to the seller, this telephone was taken out from a bunker just after the war, and used as a domestic telephone for several decades after the war, hence the pristine condition.

                          And pictures from the auction:

At first glance it might look like a bunker telephone in mint, original condition. But after studying this last picture here, I am convinced that this is a restored festungsfernsprecher, with postwar paintjob. Also the Crank should be black, not green. and the box for the ringing mechanism should be black, not dark green. The new paint also covers scratches in the original paint on the bell housing.
Althou it is a early 1937 dated example.

I think it is a rather high prize to pay for a restored example.
Here in Norway these telephones show up quite frequently.
I do have a couple of examples in my own collection - I'll post some pictures in a few minutes

And here are the Festungsfernsprecher's that I have in my own collection.

These two empty housings, I found a couple of years ago, when I was playing with a metal detector on coastal fortress just a few kilometers from where I live. They where just thrown out after the war (after someone took out all the guts.) Both the lids had very nice "BEFEHLE" tags on them. I have moved one of the two, over to a telephone that I have restored

This next telephone here, is up for restoration with new paint. This is also a KM type, with connection-plugs for the "Gasmaske Telefon" headset.
It's a bit rusted on the outside, but in very good condition on the inside. I have tested it, and it works.

The next telephone here, is one that I have restored with new paint. It looks quite nice, althou I am a little bit off on the colour. It should be slighly lighter and slightly greener, but it is close enough

Next is a 1939 dated battery box. This one was also brown from rust. I had it sandblasted and repainted.

And the last few pictures is of a really nice original condition Festungsfernsprecher 38, wich I got last year. I got it from a friend of mine, who actually saved it from the trash
This is the best preserved original example that I have come across so far. The original factory paint is close to 100%

It has a nice waffenamt inkstamp on the side, just above the crank:

As you can see, I am a little bit off with the paint on the telephone that I restored, compared to the one with original paint:

From the inside. The telephone came without a handset, but Imanaged to find a loose one, wich I have paired it up with:

Anyway, I hope you liked the pictures
The plan is to mount and connect the telephones in my new collection room wich I am building on the side of our house. It will be a direct line inside, so the wife can call me to dinner

                            Best Regards
                            Björn

                              Hello Bjorn,

I also agree the KM FS38 on ebay was a repainted one, just seeing the crank arm that shall be painted in black. But it's still a nice and complete one.

You have a very nice set of FS38, especially the last one of course. What colour do you plan of the KM one in restauration process ?

                              Best regards

This one is my bunker telephone made by TN & dated 1942. This one does not have a bell cover & feedback on the forum indicated that they may have been eliminated in later production as a cost saving measure.

The handset is not original to the phone. The handset was a dug example that I heavily restored using bondo & components from a bergbau/industrial phone.

I have yet to pick up a battery box so I’m using some sort of Luftschutz electrical box as a substitute for display.

                                Regards, Ben
