    Very nice set Yuri.
And I guess it will work like a charm.

    Cheers

I have not tested it yet. I reckon the capacitors need to be restored. I will test it this weekend and see the operating condition. More info to come in this thread.

Nice one! These early Torn.E.b's were produced side by side with the Spez.445b's, hence the relatively high serial numbers, Torn.E.b's probably start somewhere in the 50.000's while the highest number on the Spez.445b is somewhere near 75.000. My early Torn.E.b 61986 probably predates my Spez.445b 67132, both from 1937!

It appears that Telefunken numbering was shared between types, making it very difficult to estimate production. I also know that this Torn.E.b was manufactured at Siemens & Halske AG in Berlin-Siemensstadt. Inside you will probably find a stamp like "4TP180" (with the T &P connected into a single symbol), this denotes the "Telefunken Prueffeld" or testing bench located at the Siemens work in Berlin, the first number (4 in this example) being the specific testing bench. There usually also is a red "VV" stamp on the back of the HF block of these early Torn.E.b's, I don't know what this means. You many also find another date stamped on the back of the HF block, which denotes the date that the radio passed the inspection, this can be quite different from the manufacturing date, mine only passed inspection in 1938, denoting some problems in early production!

          regards,

          Funksammler

Very good information Funksammler. When you have time, it would be very interesting to get your device serial numbers in the serial number investigation thread. I am amazed that there are early Torn.E.b receivers numbered in the 60,000s.

The subject of the various inspection stamps fascimates me. There are lots of different types of stamps on these devices , but that's a separate research thread.

The middle symbol is the "TP" symbol I talked about, the "Telefunken Prueffeld". "Brl" probably stands for Berlin and the number the individual inspector.
