    Hello,

The repro manuals for the Naxos and other FumG are available from the net (on ebay or trough a well know radio ham ).
They describe what you should see on the tubes.

    Cheers

Page 12 of this document shows a typical trace of the Lichtenstein SN2 radar: http://www.cdvandt.org/German%20airb...adar%20def.pdf

Also, this paper gives a schematic representation of the display on page 15: http://www.cdvandt.org/Lichtenstein%20radars.pdf

The Azitmuth display on the left would show if the target(s) were left or right of the nightfighter, if to the left, the peak on the left would be larger than the peak on the right. The position of the peak on the vertical axis would indicate the range. Full scale would be either 4 km or 10 km (selected with the range switch centre bottom of the display unit). so if the peaks appear halfway up the verticle axis on 10 km range, the distance would be 5 km.

The Elevation display on the right works in a similar fashion, if the top peak is longer than the bottom peak that the target is flying higher than the nightfighter. Range is indicated by the position of the peaks on the horizontal axis.

Note that the display shows ground clutter on extremes of the range, the lower that the nightfighter flies, the bigger the groundclutter area becomes. Also note that between the peaks, there is always some random noise, if no target was detected, only this noise would be visible.

        regards,

        Funksammler
