    Higher voltage batteries can be used, but only with a correctly dimensioned series resistor (that takes a 1 V voltage drop and brings the voltage at the terminals back to 2 V).

    From a safety point of view is is advisable to make sure your power supplies are properly earthed (I assume there will be clear manufacturer's instructions to do so). I will have to check the Torn.E.b schematic ibut I suspect that the minus terminal of the power supply is already connected to the housing, so extra earthing of the receiver is probably not necessary from a safety point of view.

          Hi Val

          I am still in the process of finding out which regulators to use, I think that I will construct a powersupply with several outputs, one for each receiver/transmitter. At first I was thinking of a either switchable or adjustable at the front, but I don't want to take the chance of forgetting to adjust or switch to the correct voltage at the output, when changing receiver/transmitter. For now I need one output with 2V and 90V and another output with 12V and 130V. I have found some interesting powerregulators. The TL783 is an adjustable regulator, it can deliver 700mA at 125V as a maximum, it could be used for the 90V and 130V supply. The LM1084 powerregulator is also available as a adjustable regulator, it can deliver up to 5A, it could be used for the 2V and 12V. I am thinking of making af voltage quadruple circuit for the 130V, if I do so I only need about 35V at the secondary side of the transformer for the anode voltage. This is the thinking I have done so far, If there is somebody with recommandations or advice, please let me know.

            Hi!

            Visiting Luca Fusari's page over a long time noticed there Torn E.b page and corresponding modern PSU in size of those times power connector!

            Amazing as in ~100 years electonics have been evolved. Does anyone have schematics of that ultra compact PSU or sellers contacts?
