    Untouched German Bunkers

Interesting goes without saying. Anyone know if any radios were found inside.

Unfortunately not! But take a look at these other photos of the discovery. What a great find!

    All the best, Paul.

It's an amazing find. It does not surprise me however how may idiots just want it blown up. It was a terrible time for all nations, but to erase history is not right.

Paul, thanks for posting the link to those photos. Very cool stuff, I would love to explore something like that myself.

I agree that these need to be preserved for history sake. My only observation is this.....if they were sealed and hidden for so long, why is there a bunch of modern trash stuffed in corners? I can imagine the excitement the first time he went into that bunker. I felt the same when I climbed into a few tanks at Aberdeen. Still it is an awesome discovery.

I wonder if they could be moved?
i have seen thick concrete cutting equipment at work and have seen them cutting walls approx 1 metre thick! I think it would be great to buy one and relocate it!

I think there could well be plenty more in russia still to find.

Untouched? look there is graffity on it I don't believe that concrete the bunker reminding it still can stand untouched , to be undiscovered it should be invisible to the eyes, specially collapsed and not allocated of the general landscape , there still some hopes on underground communications of Kennigsberg ( Kaliningrad) and maybe somewhere in Berlin...

The four bunkers discovered this summer, has been buried in sand since shortly after the end of WW2. The bunker with grafitti on, was not among the four untouched ones. At the west cost of Jutland the bunkers are placed very close to eachother. The bunkers was discovered, this summer after a storm has moved some sand piles. The sensation is that they were untouched since the war, because they were buried in sand by the wind, and then forgot, before they were emptied for all metal and other stuff. This was done legally, due to the shortage of all materials.

                      Hello
The pyramids were not built by slaves , recent excavations all around have proven otherwise , the worker were in fact , just that , paid workers who were provided with housing , food etc...

When it comes to bunker , I have "crawled" ( the right word for it) inside blockhaus on the French cost quite in few , to find un-disturbed interior since 1945 , with beds , lockers , all the electrical apparel etc... an helmet and a couple of bayo .

The Danes tried to blow them up , but had to give up ! They were just too rugged !!
Crossing over to Norway, you will find whole mountains like Swiss cheese. WM used POWs to fortify the whole coast way up above the Artic Circle. Many of the fortresses have been restored as museums now. Perhaps the most impressive fortress is in HARSTAD, which has a battleship gun on a mountaintop. The WM build a chain of big guns overlapping each other, but by far the biggest gun is there in Harstad.
Take the HURTIGRUTEN for an adventure trip along the coast.

I wonder how many untouched bunkers is underneath Berlin,it is said that underneath Tempelhof airfield lays hangarsize bunkers full of ammunition and airplanes which allies stacked there after war.

And about Norway...it is full of german fortifications.

Another nice place to visit is Kristiansand in southern Norway. There is also very nice/big battleship gun on top of rock.Next to it is the bunker for same kind of gun(without gun).Bunker under gun is also restored as an museum.I will recommend visit there too.

I myself have checked many positions from Kristiansand to Vardo(hehe, that means actually whole norway).

                              bunkers????

Hi Alan, that link was very intriging, I would like to buy or lease a WW11 bunker along the French coast line in the future if at all possible.
I have done various web searchers and contacted loads of people but there seems to be no details on how to acquire one of these bunkers to restore it to give it a new lease of life.
I think these are awsome building and it seems such a shame to let them waste away, I see some have been made into museums but I have never seen them on sale. If anyone on the forum has any ideas of diferant direction to search in I will be very interested.
                              Regards
