    newly acquired radio

Good day to all. This is my first time on your site. It looks quite interesting. I just received a radio/receiver (I think a receiver) from my father who is a ww2 vet. He brought it home with him after his tour in Europe. From the pictures I've seen on your site I believe it is a WR1/T model. I am sorry I cannot send pictures without someone leading me through the process. Look forward to hearing from you.

Only Association members have the Attachment button. If you are not Association member /this is paid subscription, 25 $ per year/, you can use external hosting for the pictures - like imageshack.us

Don't give up It is very easy to put pictures here. Do it this way:

                  Go to www.imageshack.us

There click on the Browse button /pointed by arrow 1/. A window opens and in this window you choose the picture that you want to upload from your computer.

After you make your choice, click the uploading button /pointed by arrow 2/

After a while, the picture is uploaded to the Imageshack site. And you get the screen that I am showing below.

From that screen, copy the link, which I have pointed with an arrow, and paste it here, in the field where you are writing your response/ by the way, most of the other links will work, too/. That is all

Yes, yopu must get it there - but then again, you need to link it back to here. Imageshack is a photo storage site and it has... don't know, maybe millions of photos uploaded. So, you first need to upload the picture there, then copy the link to your photo and paste it here. You must copy the link, to which I have put arrows on the second picture.

Picture is a bit blurry, but looks like a very nice WR1/T - and it uses the little fat metal vacuum tubes.

Here is a photo of mine:

What was this radio's primary purpose in the war? Is it strictly a receiver or does the T stand for transmitter? Are they still usable today, of course when working properly, and who would you communicate with? Thanks to all who led me thru pic process.
