    Volksempfenger 301 Radio

Hi guys, I've been looking for one for quite a long time - and finally got it
It is a Volksempfenger VE301, made by Telefunken. The bakelit box is very good, not even a crack! Maybe the right knob is replaced but... that's the way it is Inside some parts have eagle and swastika. Do you know, this exact model with the square speaker - from which to which year it was produced?

I think this model was produced from 1937 or 38 untill 1944. If you remove the chassis from the case and look on the underside, you just might find the date of manufacture, marked with an ink stamp, on the bottom of the part that holds the "guts".
Send a better picture of the knobs...I might have the one you need, if you wanted to trade.

Thanks for the information David! I was lucky, founda knob. Examined it and decided not to take it apart. Could open it and clean it - but some parts are aged, seem fragile. Just removed carefully the dust where I could reach and think to leave it like that.

Thanks for the link Robert, a great site for those radios!!! So, now starts the hunt for the model wit hthe round speaker

Its not too hard to get apart....providing the screws in the knobs aren't too rusted up. Just two screws hold the chassis in from underneath....but the speaker is still attached with wires. But its probably best to not go in there unless it really needs it.
The screws that hold the Ruckwand in place are a totally unattainable size here in my land...I think they are metric 3.5 by something. I can get 3mm or 4mm. Nobody could even order them. Finally I determined that an American screw was a close match and works so long as you don't go more than about 8 or 10mm long. These screws you won't find at the hardware store either...but they are the ones used to hold a scope ring to a rifle action.
I'll look for 3.5mm screws when I go to Germany in a day or two...
