WWII German Clock 1940

Recently acquired this clock and was hoping someone might be able to shed some more light on it. It looks waffenampt on the reverse. Clock works well, no cracks in the glass. Does have a laquer look, not sure if it was refinished or not. Any additional information is greatly appreciated!
