Waffen SS General's cap - a bargain Pekuro!

Good evening / morning colleagues.


This cap is being offered locally and has sparked some interest amongst collectors, especially at a price of around $6500 US equivalent!!
It purports to be a Pekuro. Not the quality I would expect! I have not handled this cap but the original vendor says the eagle is "nickel silver ... and marked M1/52".


I've posted this as I have been asked for my opinion as to authenticity. I was not able to be re-assuring in my initial response but I have never handled original WSS General rank headgear. I'd appreciate your assessment please.

Im pretty sure the insignia are fake. Not experienced with the cap but not looking good. Vince

These are typical Fake Insignia and there are only a few Original WSS peküro caps out there. Most of Them are Fakes.

The insignia are very common reproductions ... the moustache on the skull is really obvious and the eye detail on the eagle.

Sounds a bit like the WSS generals visor that Jamie Blewitt aka Parasite had on his website JB militaria a couple of years ago for 9k When asked for some provenance or authenticity all he said was that it is real,and then got the sh#ts cause I kept asking for proof.Some poor sucker is 9k out of pocket and will never see his money again.
