Cheers Bob, I could kick myself for making such a schoolboy error. I bought it to match my signals tunic. Not sure if I’ll hold on to it as I don’t need yet another infantry cap. I’m pretty sure it was a genuine mistake and Cliff will sort me out. Shipping is such a pain between here and the states though. I’ll maybe have a chat with him about the price. It depends how much this will have hurt the value. I’m open to suggestions. One things for sure, it’ll be a dog to sell on.

Yes wait to see what Cliff says as postage to here and back to the US is not cheap,i'm sure he'll see you alright, please Keep us informed as to the outcome..

Well Folks, the cap arrived and yep, the piping has been colored by hand. Thankfully Cliff and I came to an amicable arrangement over the price and I’m going to hold on to it. It’s still a cracking cap, and I’m going to leave the piping as is.
If I move it on at some point, I will of course declare the issue but keep an eye out as I’m sure this one will come again and I obviously can’t guarantee the honesty of the next owner. Thanks for all input gentlemen and thanks to the Moderators who made contact with me and kept a very proactive eye on things.

I'm glad the cap has arrived and that you've come to an amicable agreement with Cliff on the price...just have to remove that yellow marker pen ink and you've got a very nice Infantry officer s cap.Please keep us posted.
