Bergmütze with double vents

It's been years since I bought a Bergmütze so when I saw this one in auction recently, I decided to bid and got it for a reasonable price.

I like this one because it has double vent grommets/eyelets on either side plus it's a bit salty but not completely knackered.

I think Bergmützen are fascinating because there were so many variations and everytime I look at period photos, I see another that is a bit different to the last.

Ben can you make out any of the maker mark ? Looks like the bottom edge of the sb is stitched with black thread ?

Hi Lenny, no makers mark that I can see but there used to be some numbers, a 4 and possibly a 5. Photos don't pick them up though.
Bottom edge of the sweatband has piping with a reed core.
