                  Original cap ...but soutache while convincingly applied was at the very least post manufacturer wartime period or postwar applied...Billbert

                    Application of soutache with waffenafarbe was discountined in mid 1942, so this soutache have been postar added ( it is specialy obvious when you look on the date which is 1943 ).

                      thanks for you comment. You came to this conclusion because the cap was made in '43 ? Judging by the stamps.

                            Probably the one who sewed the white soutache did not know this.

                              Only I can not understand how they could sew the soutache in a machine way without damaging the lining?
