Wilhelm Mohnke Colored piped SS visor?

One photo is known, the other from the series were recently found from an Italian publication in 1944. Typical that the chin cord is removed from the cap at the front lines. It looks like color piping on the cap now that I see a second angle. What do you think?

Looks to be a color piped visor IMO, most likely pink as he was in 12th SS panzer division at this time I believe. I also like the high placed skull on the cap, overlapping the piping. Cool photos, and cool cap. Here is another one of him, with Flatwire or bullion eagle on cap!

Also note the Italian made camo jacket.

I still don't understand how they could wear wool hats in the hot, humid Normandy summer--I could barely stand wearing a baseball cap for a few hours during a game in my playing days (which were long ago!)
