Yes remove the ribbon bar and the political cap roundal (vet added?)

Why remove the added bits it’s all part of its history . Perhaps the roundel was added by the police man ? Rob

That's an interesting other ranks cap find for the Gendarmerie (rural police) and most likely worn by the rank of Meister who was authorized to wear the silver chin cords. The rondel and ribbon bar have been added, as mentioned above. Check out the police forum and you will find many more examples to compare to.
