The maker is Willy Sprengpfeil of Hamburg and it looks like transport to me.

          Hallo Michael

You have to consider that Sprengpfeil was in the business for more than sixty years, at least from 1913 to 1973:

As my personal opinion, I have some doubts:

          - The seam of the sweatband and of the half-moon stirndruckfrei is extremely rough
          - The very simplified logo does not indicate the fabrik marke inscription on the lower sides

All things considered, I don't like it but, anyway, before a final judgment, it deserves a more detailed discussion.

          Best regards

Transport piping for certain, but the construction and strange appearance of the sweatband and piping stitching deserve very close inspection.

Some opinions would be most welcomed regarding this cap as some questions have been noted.

The double thread ‘reapplication’ of sweatband is amateur and lame but at least served a purpose. It still displays well.

                      Robt.

So is the cap at least original not withstanding the resewn sweatband?

In my opinion, the leather visor has been re-sewn to the body of the cap to make it more of a crusher, but I would not call this a true Alter Art-style crusher in the strict sense of the term.
