It is useful to take photos outside in natural light because the actual color(s) of the cap will likely be best seen in these conditions. From these photos I cannot determine what colors I am seeing.

You cap is probably a good luft cap dyed after the war for civilian use. Then someone tried to remove it (dye) and this is why it has a so strange color. The trapezoid is of course post war added (not war time applied). My thought....
