Picked up this Luftwaffe M-43 cap today that just came into a local antique store. I would like to run the buttons past the forum as I have never seen them before. They are smooth black glossy buttons pushed through and held in place with bent over prongs, not sewn on. I figure they are replacements but before I go and replace them with pebbled buttons I wanted to make sure this is not some sort of known variation I am not aware of. Thanks!
