I would suggest taking photos in natural light without all the shadows and showing close-ups with less hand. From these images it is difficult to judge the cap.

Hi,

This type of fake cap appears every year at SOS.

Do you know who sold it? I hope you can get your money back.

The SOS is unfortunately terrible for fake caps, the majority for sale are fake and it seems after every MAX / SOS collectors will post fake M43's they just picked up from dealers at the shows. If you're on facebook you will see a lot of these fakes trading hands as well.

Thanks for the info. The dealer, when informed, has promised to get straight on the deal and don't know if he knew it was bad and do doubt he did. Generally there are two types of perfidy that could be at play in a situation like this. #1 someone who bought a fake, knowing it was a fake and intending to screw someone. #2 someone that got screwed and is now looking to pass a fake item off on someone else. This is why return privledges are so, so important to this hobby and why quickly vetting and doing due diligence on items you purchase. I think that if it weren't for the forums this hobby would have evaporated long ago and the history we preserve would have been diluted into insignificance.
