      In November of 1942 (11/42) soutaches were no longer being applied to field caps.

        Original 1142 Hans Brandt from the beehive cache. The soutache has been added post war as with so many of these...

              Aug 1942. Caps made after this date with a soutache are almost always post war added. Several hundred Hans Brandt "beehive" sidecaps dated after Aug '42 have had the soutache added by an enterprising individual years ago...including this one with the white soutache.

                What do you mean by "beehive"sidecaps. Does this refer to their shape?
