    Come on--Really?

    Auction house description:

Description: Lot contains: (A) Heer Chaplain NCO Waffenrock tunic, and (B) pair of matching Chaplain trousers. (A) Prewar Hauptfeldwebel dress tunic in overall near mint condition. These Waffenrocks were worn until 1940 and were generally stored at home during the war. This fine quality tricot wool tunic is near mint with no visible damage. Collar is green wool with blue wool piping for the Chaplain branch, with machine sewn NCO tress. There is a 1" section of the tress on the left rear where the stitching has opened up. The collar tabs are blue backed and tailor machine sewn. A couple of the Litzen bullion threads are loose. The sewn in shoulder boards are green wool with blue piping, in the rank of Hauptfeldwebel. Each board has two NCO rank pips and the cipher of "17". A green wool backed bullion eagle is correctly hand sewn to the right present, with very minor wear. Sleeve cuffs are green wool with blue piping and blue backed Litzen. All the buttons on the tunic are matching and era sewn. There are four era sewn ribbon bar loops above the left breast, and a pair of badge loops on the left side. Tunic is unmarked and appear to be in a small size, with full rayon lining, dagger hanger slot, and an inner belt. (B) Model 1940 straight leg wool trousers sized marked (about a 32" waist and length of 40") and dated 1942. Trousers are excellent to near mint, and have the Chaplain branch blue wool piping. It is possible the piping was added at a later time. The top two buttons on the fly area have been replaced. The lining is in a off-white cotton, there is very slight soiling around the waistband, and there is one very small hole in the wool. Unique opportunity to own a Waffenrock in a very rare branch of the German Army. Condition: Dimensions:
