Barely can read the MM date 194? size 58. It's pretty large. Looks as though there was a name tag or some personal tag sewn in but was removed.

Thanks Lenny, yes I believe it is. It looks to be period thread, reinforced because it looked like it was loose. Don't want to mess with it, the shadow under it looks as though it's original to it, just a guess though. Dave.

Thank you Rheinmetall and Lenny again, would like to see other Luftwaffe Berg's,
with the 'double row of stitching', and full leather sweat band, which is indicative of a true Bergmutze. Very little photos of these, here on the WAF, I believe.
