fake eagles have the gap as well. this type of pit helmet comes up all the time and is from that lot they found about 20 years ago. as stated. if you don't mind me asking what was the asking price for the pit helmet?...regards paul.Comment

Well if its considered SS then I got a good deal, I'm trading a NSKK dagger and the guy was nice enough to send me the item first and then make a decision on it and then if I like I can send him the dagger, so for a NSKK early maker you think its worth the trade, regarding it being an SS pith helmet ?Comment

Yes the trade is good. Can't be certain it's been used by the ss solders. But it is the type worn by them without badges most of the time. It could also have been used by LW personel with/without original LW badges. Or unissued as many from the horde are...without provenance no-one can be certain of the origin.Comment

Thank you for the help guys !! I truly appreciate it guys ! So the conclusion is that the helmet came from the hord and could be either SS or LW , but has the pattern towards more of the SS
So ill take it as SS hahahaha
