    Tropical Hat for Review

This was supposedly picked up from a vet in 1970. Don't know much about these. What do y'all think?

Sorry, pics stink. The maker is:

        H. Schade
        Kassel

Just about everything. Grommets, maker stamp. Schade is well known stamp used by the fakers etc.

Insignia looks OK but that's it.

"Schade" means "too bad" in German and this is certainly the case here.

Here is some more info on the maker "Schade" from a thread from eight years ago on tropical cap makers during the War. my post #25 in this thread...

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=482153

"a little further research has found no evidence so far that H Schade made tropical caps. In fact tis likely this "H Schade" only made fake caps as its deemed a bogus stamp. The real H Shade produced visored caps in abundence but used the logo KM not "H Schade" on its visors. The only caps stamped with "H Shade" that i found were all LW sidecap fakes"....

This was in response to a comment OSS (post #19) had made advising me " not be too eager to add "Schade" to the list."

If anyone can add another legit tropical cap maker to that list please feel free to do so.

& on second look the insignia doesn't excite me either. Should stop posting after just only looking at pics on my phone

Perhaps the "vet" was Maj. Charles Snyder.

No, then there would have been a panty tugged into the liner. J

I didn’t realize that he had died and his site was shutsown until just now.

God bless him and Eva Braun’s panties.
