Looks like R 43 ( Ravensbruck 1943 ). I have two M43 WSS hats and both have simply size markings ( one is size 57 other size 58 ) and camp or subcamp indicator ( one is M 43 other is marked H 43 ).

If "R 43" means Ravensbruck mfgr., what does " M 43" and "H 43" mean?
