Did you check if someone had used a cigarrelighter on it before the purchase?

i heard its the best way to autenticate items.

Also dont forget to check shadows in the lining, if there is, its fake in tjeckoslovakia atleast.

      Nice CW cap...

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this but quite a few of these caps I've seen over the years have this dull and rough lacquered finish on the vulcanfibre peak. It's by no means exclusive to SS Kleiderkasse caps but it is quite common compared.

I'm not sure if age has deteriorated the finish or whether they were just badly sprayed at the factory or whether it was done on purpose. I don't imagine having a perfect glossy black peak on your cap is a good idea in a combat situation!

I have, and I agree. It's almost crude when compared to typical high gloss visor from any branch, but looks great on these late war types.

Fantastic cap in superb condition. Wonderful!

                          regards, Robert
