A nice original Bergmütze with T badge restored to the cap .
The Edelweiss seems to be original sewn on .

              Reswen eagle

Thanks guys, wasn’t really sure about it. So the “T” eagle and cocarde are correct originals, but are resewn to the hat. Do you think this is common postwar or possibly during the war by the soldier? I’ve been wanting one of these, but always cautious. Thanks, John

If it's not to expensive..it's a worthy example..the majority of this era cap seem to be hand sewn...but this example doesn't have the same level of expert application that many exhibit for the factory..but a nice pre war bergmutze

Early examples should have a visable stiffening strap to inside front. Later ones have it inside behind the lining and would validate the mouse grey t-form insig.

Pretty sure that t-form is very early as is the cream on drk green. What i was implying was the mouse grey on perhaps a later cap that has the hidden strap stiffener. I think the early Bergmutzes had the visible stiffener right on the front seam behind the sweatband. Cream on putty eagle with steinuss buttons seems very early.
