Help with a Tropical M38 Overseas Cap, please

Please give me your opinions on the authenticity of this cap and insignia. I'm a small collector and admittedly inexperienced in most areas. I've spent hours and hours reading posts here as well as reading books I can access, trying to compare pictures of emblems and stitching but when it comes down to it, any decision I make will really be a guess. I haven't been able to do much hands on studying but recently retired and have been visiting shows when possible. I appreciate your opinions and respect the years of experience and time spent to be able to form them. Someday I hope to have the confidence to do it correctly myself. In the meantime....help.

Original tropical sidecap and insignias, but with a post war added soutache, too bad.
One grommet's washer looks missing inside, tale care to this point if visible outside.

Yes original Hans Brandt sidecap from Nov '42 right out of the beehives. The grommet appears to be entirely missing on the right side of the cap. & the soutache has been added postwar to increase it's value, but actually it's a lower value cap unfortunantly.
