    & yes, there are period photos where the Edelweiss was squeezed in.
    The Edelweiss was not authorized for wear until May, 1939, so a lot of soldiers either squeezed it in, or simply moved up their eagle (instead of buying a whole new hat).

    However, what we see most often today are Admin visors w/ the flowers slapped on postwar in an attempt to fool.

      This is a Carl Derwig made cap that I picked up on the cheap at an online auction.
      I held out a slim hope that it may be GBJ, but was soon disabused of that notion.

        @ ROBERT SHOAF......While your hat TECHNICALLY isn't CORRECT...that does NOT ALWAYS mean it was not done in the WAR PERIOD...time and time again exceptions to the rule are seen...JMHO Billbert
