Worst sweatband repairs I have ever seen, except for an Allgemeine-SS visor where they used scotch tape to make the repairs, on the outside of course.

There are a lot of issues here.
Regardless of the repairs, what is a civilian wasserdicht lining doing in an Officers GF or Veterinarians cap? Makes no sense.
If I were browsing for caps, I'd just pass on it to be honest without thinking twice.

I agree, very odd to see a civil lining in an Officer's cap--especially when it is veterinarian/GS.

First Otto Hempe visor I have seen, though.

PS--let this be a lesson to everyone--leave a torn sweatband alone!

In my opinion, this is a genuine officer's visor -- not veterinarian/GS though but produced for use as a transitional justice visor (note the slightly different cap band color).

So technically I guess it is possible that a young veterinarian walked into Otto Hempe's shop in Wiesbaden that also supplied the local prison and was equipped with a newly badged civil visor. Still, as you can see it's not a good investment. Still, soberly looking at this cap, you only have original parts...

Thanks Kurt for your comments. The cap band colour did not make sense until I read your post.
