Heer tropical M41 with Engineer soutache

I'm not advertising this nor interested in purchasing, just thought some may be interested...

Rock Island Auctions has a Heer tropical M41 with Pioneer/Combat Engineer/Assault Engineer soutache starting at $600:

    https://www.invaluable.com/auction-l...7-c-8cf445ab70

    Blurb on the Invaluable listing:

"Heer Tropical Hat with Engineer's Soutache Green twill cloth construction overall, with a purely cosmetic "earflap fold" around the crown, grommeted vent holes, and a set of tan backed eagle and cockade patches on the front. Positioned around the cockade patch is a short black soutache, denoting the cap as being for a pioneer (combat engineer). The interior is lined in red cloth, with a "58" size mark, "1942" date, and an August Shellenberg (Berlin) maker's stamp. Manufacturer: None Model: None BBL: Stock: Gauge: Finish: Grips: Serial Number: Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very good, with fading and stains appropriate to wear and age. "

The badges are fake for starters as is probably the rest of the cap.

    Yuk, vomit stamps

"Bad to the bone" as they say,

      dodgy M40 tropical cap

Authentic caps only very rarely have the manufacturer's stamp on the right hand side of the cap (looking at the inside of the cap with the peak down), so that's an immediate giveaway, and I have yet to see a convincing August Schellenberg Berlin M40. (Has anyone else?).

        Old repo

There a reason why the Auction photos do not show the grommets :thumsdown

The Emery Cloth treatment is an especially nice touch
