Early visor - thoughts on maker?

I've had this in my collection for a little while, but haven't been able to figure out the maker. It's an early (pre war) cap, and I have no idea on the maker. Does anyone have any thoughts or recognize any design attributes?

My initial thought, just based on the shape, was Paul Kaps, but it lacks all other attributes I've seen on the 4 others I've owned.

I particularly like the toned early insignia on this one.

        Why do I even bother?

No, the insignia have not been replaced. One can easily see in the photos that there are no extra holes through the pasteboard and the patina is consistent throughout. There isn't even any evidence of Reichswehr insignia.

This is why I rarely post my visors. Tired of the uninformed comments on here.

Basel, that is a terrific visor with undoubtedly original insignia (and one I would not mind having in my own collection).

I simply have no idea who made it w/o a logo--these transitional visors are a study all themselves.

How the hell would you know that? You cannot even tell whether the insignia on the cap you posted is original:

That is a superb cap Basel, the insignia looks terrific too, a cap that any serious cap collector would love to obtain and proud to own, ....

                Cheers

                  Who knows?
Maybe because eagle prongs break the whole cap?

Gee, by that logic, someone sold SS-Obergruppenführer Karl-Hermann Frank a bad hat:

'Schlange' (Snake) seems to be a bit too tightly wound I think....

If only I still had this cap, they would've made quite the pair
