M43 cap with a puzzle to solve

I'm a sucker for unique and personalised caps so just had to buy this one.
It's probably not to everyone's taste being that it's salty with insignia long gone but personally, I love stuff like this. If only it could tell us it's story!

Anyone here from München? If so, maybe you can work out what the embroidery says below. I'm assuming the blue and white shield are the colours of Bavaria? Obviously the original owner was very proud of his birth place.

At first I thought it was "XT" but now I realise it's a flower, a crudely sewn edelweiss?

Nice cap, I had seen one similar about 2 years ago, practically the same configuration, meaning: devoid of insignia, brandishing a heraldry shield/insignia on the side and "home made" embroidered wording that indicated a place in Germany. That cap belonged and was worn by a German POW in a camp and given to a friendly US guard when the German was released/cleared along with a number of other POWs to go back home. It was given to the US guard as a keepsake. I would bet that this cap is exactly the same, having belonged to a German Army POW and modified in the camp to indicate his home/place of origin in Germany.

            Cheers,
            Dave.

IMO it said "München (Edelweiß) Obb." (Oberbayern).

Not trying to be funny, alot of hats were stripped of insignia per regulation and worn as civilian items in post war Germany. POW worn as indicated is also a possibility, but lower ranks were very quickly released. J

Those salty items are the most impressive in my sense. New things tell us nothing...
