Splinter Camo Cap

Hi All, I picked this up recently from that are ex estate of a former Luftwaffe Gefreiter. I have already asked opinions on another forum (yet with no opinions offered). The more I have researched the more I like the cap... German caps are well outside my normal area of British Commonwealth collecting so I was unfamiliar with the details of these caps but with a little reading and a lot of time looking at forums I think I now have a reasonable idea and that this is an original... Does anyone have a different opinion to this ? As I say Im no expert on this kit but it feels right is well aged and is most certainly well worn.


I know the quality of the pictures is poor but I seem to be having endless issues with my camera at the moment so I have tried a couple of different times etc hence the changing color in different ligths trying to get a proper depiction of the pattern etc.
Would love to hear thoughts on this guys.

Blimey it's grimy! Not used to seeing field made caps with grommets.

Im not very fond of the cap. It is made in a SS camocap style, not a good sign in my opinion.

I don't like it at all. I am trying to figure out what is going on with the inner/ outer edge on the non- billed portion of the cap. IMO, all the aging/ wear is contrived.
