    Post war Feuerschutzpolizei visor?

I picked up this visor today as the price was perfect, it was marked post war but it's construction and markings lead me to believe otherwise but I could be wrong. I was wondering what the opinion of the professionals here are.

Yes, it's very hard to read. I like it, looks period.

The liner looks like oil cloth? It's still really hard to read that stamp. Looking at the markings the cap definitely looks pre-1950.

The leather sweatband on the reverse side is a coarse leather the side photographed is a oiled leather/ shammy material. No markings on the inside, in fact it was pretty stiff leading me to believe it's never been looked at (the inside).

the top part says "Freiwillige Feuerwehr", which means volunteer fire brigade.
The bottom part is too hard to make out....

IMO it is a period cap that was used postwar (there are extra holes in the velvet).
Construction and materials are correct for pre-1945.

Rare maker--I do not think I have ever seen that logo before.

Enorepap will chime in here to confirm.

                          Hallo Chris

                          I agree

Wilhelm Leunig, kurschner, pelze and mutzenfabrikation, Herschelstrasse 3a is confirmed by the 1943 Hannover adressbuch:

                          http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/w/index....djvu&page=395

                          Consequently a TR period maker.

After the war, in 1953, no trace of him:

                          http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/w/index....djvu&page=465

The other stamp is related to a guest-house near a railway station and therefore I do not see a correlation.

                          Best regards

                            Thank you Marcello,

I've added some photos of an outline of what was on the band could it be the outline of a Luftwaffe base firefighter's emblem?

                            Regards,
                            Brett

The secondary stamps are related to the small town of Rethen-Leine, a part of the main town of Laatzen in the district of Hannover, in Lower Saxony, situated south of Hannover and the center of Laatzen. This coincides with the Hannover manufacturer, although I can not explain what has to do a tavern with the fire department. German mysteries ...
