    Panzer M43

Hi, can I ask for opinions on this hat. Not sure if it is the picture but the brown tint of the lining throws me off. Any thoughts appreciated, not my field.

The shade of the lining is fine, and so is the material. Getting a Pz M43 thumbs up on this forum is a tough challenge, I'm afraid. They do know their headgear, though - good luck.

From those pictures I could entertain doubts.

Seems one can find these at any size one wants. I would wait until a 58 comes around, fits better.

There are subtle differences with this one when compared to the readily accepted examples by this maker.

I am not comfortable with these differences,

Can I ask if you need more pictures or there is something about the hat you do not believe is correct?

I could only agree to that - I had handled a similar made fake like this in Kassel 1 year ago.

On several points of construction, trap and the stamp. The known footprints of this maker are not there. It might be a "type 2" made in 1944 or 1945. However, I have never seen a beyond doubt example of this so called later type, to prove this.

And if made after the accepted "E43" types then why is it not marked E44 or E45 ?
