Boxed named Recon visor from Kaps

Wanted to share one new visor Cap.

This visor belonged to Major Freiherr von Lerchenfeld.

Commander Pz.AA27 from 1.Nov1940-January1942, German Cross Gold 6. January 1942.

Box is adressed to him with a Kaps label. All with solid provenance.
Recon boards with A cypher where also in the box.

I am on the search also for photos of him and a group Photos of the 17th Kavallerie Regiment 17 , 3rd Schwadron.

The Photos of Lerchenfeld is from this WAF link:
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ht=lerchenfeld

I assume it is the same visor with the right side bend.

Hope you enjoy this recon visor with its nice patina.
    Robert

I'm sure Holters got Kaps to do Hitlers cap wreaths...having seen two originals they are identical in construction

Photo of Rudolf Freiherr von Lerchenfeld, full Photo credit from WAF member Akira Takiguchi.
When I hold the visor in similar position it is for my view the same visor.

Great cap Robert ! Nice find.

I agree with you its the same visor. Depth/positioning of the upper crown piping. the embroidered wreath/cocade combo.. & the chin strap/cord is still tightly held against the wreath with the piping visible underneath exactly as in the picture.

              letter

Seems odd to me that the shoulder boards in the box have the "A"s on them. The copper brown color alone indicates what the branch is and, like in the photo, doesn't require an additional letter. But apparently it was done.

Outstanding Kaps and to have the box as well, that's very cool!

Interesting to note the shorter Imperial style visor and bespoke sweat shield.

Thank you guys for your opinion. His father served as well in the Army Uhlan Reg. The tradition and Christianity was very high settled in RR17.

                    Wow!!! What a great find.
Very nice to see a cap with picture provenance and the named cap box from Paul Kaps!!
I really love those Kleiderkasse cap boxes. Specially when they were distributed and marked by the cap makers.!
