      Good period mountain cap. Private purchase. Leather sweatband was maybe restitched.

          The seam (or lack thereof) around the crown worries me that it might be the postwar West German Bergmuetze that have dark green piping around the crown's circumference.

                Could it also be a private purchase Officers Bergmütze wich had a civil life after the war? The insignia and officers crown piping having been removed until it came in the hands of a collector?
