I have a double Erel for a Sonderfuhrer as part of a grouping but mine looks very different than this one

                  Ciao Carlo....
                  If I can jump in.....
It is for sure an odd cap....and for sure somethings happened to his SB....plenty of extra holes and strange stithces on uncommon band..also the frontal part seems as if it had been torn off, it seems that the sweat band has been replaced or at least restitched somehow...
So I think that a close inspection is needed.....you have a great knowledge about eReL
and you have it in hand ...for sure it will be easy for you understand what happened...
                  All my best

Hello Giorgio, I think the sewing machine was jumped doing the sewing in the back, for the extra holes and sewn was redone.I think this eReL is made in last period of the war ,they used this strange sweatband and fabric no making care to doing this hat.I ceck the lining bat is extremly danderous to thake pictures.

                            Hallo Carlo

An unusual band & piping that make this very nice visor even more interesting

Absolutely stunning example solo and thanks for sharing this very unique but unquestionable Erel with us!
It shows you once more that there was a war going on & with flying fortresses bombing the s#@t out of Berlin, Lubstein used whatever was available towards the end of the war. That said, I would agree with billbert that it could indeed also be a brownish material originally intended for some sort of NSKK transport unit rather than a faded Sonderführer...
