In my opinion, I would pass on this cap. I am not comfortable with this type of leather sweatband.

John, I think its a field made cap and stands a chance of being legit. Sometimes they're found with odd leather or ersatz sweatbands even though used in the hot climates.

Is it only a good eagle ? A better pic would help but the head is a bit strange from what I see...

The insignia is sewn on. This cap came from a gentleman who passed away and his daughter sold a box full of his belongings to a thrift store. This cap was in that box, according to the person I purchased it from.

Many details make me nervous. One of them is the insignia does not look as though it has been on the cap for 75+ years.
