Luftwaffe Overseas Cap with Black Piping?? What is it?

I recently picked up this cap.. I've never seen one before like this. It has black piping only on the crown of the Hat. Looks just like a typical Luftwaffe Overseas Cap, but the black piping has got me?? Not sure what the rank abbreviation is either.. UWE? Also looks like there was a large diamond shaped patch was once sewn on the front. If anyone has any ideas, please fell free to respond. Thanks in advance... Johnny

Thanks for the reply Gene, I thought it might have been an abbreviation for rank. Now hopefully someone out will be able to identify this cap.
